Our Developing your Compelling Story programme provides specialist social care and public sector media and communications training. Unlike traditional media training, this programme has been created by social care and media specialists working together. It is the only training of its kind tailored to the specific needs of the social care and public sector.
The training is led by our media specialists who have decades of experience in TV, radio and online newsrooms. They also have wider knowledge of public engagement and digital media, including social media, podcasting and video.
The programme consists of three full-day workshops, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to maximise opportunities to engage with the media, manage a communications crisis, and developing personal presentation and influencing skills:
Changing the narrative core training
Learn how to communicate authentically with the media whilst keeping control of the story you want to tell. Topics include choosing the right media to approach, identifying who your audience is, approaches to interviews, and on-camera coaching.
Crisis communications
How to handle situations when there are tough questions and emotive subject matters during a crisis. Topics include interviews with limited information, common pitfalls and how to avoid them, delivering key messages, and responding to tough questions.
Personal influence
Become the best advocate for your organisation through leadership skills, personal presentation and confidence. Topics include looking and feeling the part, growing through challenges, the power of creativity, and supporting others to tell their stories.
