Introducing our Innovation Days
By Lewis Gwyther
Over our 25-year history, innovation has always been a double-edged sword in health and social care. Whilst, for some it means driving change for the better, for others it means another new system to learn or another culture change programme coming down the road. It is always – inevitably – about doing something different.
We know that innovation works best when it is led by frontline staff, when it solves problems rather than creates them, and when it improves outcomes and the lives of the people we serve. Technology can be the key to this kind of innovation, and this is more evident now as demand on services continues to rise. This need is what motivated us to create our Innovation Days.
We are in a privileged position to work with a number of tech and innovation organisations that are motivated by the desire to make life easier for staff, friends and families, and those in receipt of health and care support. We know this because we have witnessed them in action, because their stories come from lived experience, and their values align with ours.
We have designed our Innovation Days to introduce these hand-picked solutions to organisations that want to use technology to drive change and re-imagine the delivery of care, to simplify processes, and to transparently communicate with people effectively within a single ecosystem.
Our first event on Tuesday 23 Jan (12-3pm) is with PredicAire (multi award-winning and intuitive care management software), harnessing the power of AI to elevate resident wellbeing and streamline operations in care homes. This Innovation Day is kindly being hosted by Stable (bespoke IT consultancy), in their offices in Pontcanna, Cardiff.
PredicAire’s story is wholly purpose-led from the experiences of the founders Vinay Patel and Ketan Shan. Vinay’s experience of turning around his care homes into award-winning care homes, and Ketan’s mother going through the care system, resulted in them developing a predictive and preventative care solution which is also affordable to providers. They both recognised that their team had the skills to build something that could improve that experience for all stakeholders within the care value chain – not only for the individual resident, but equally for friends, families, and staff as well.
The PredicAire tool is a game-changer; a one-stop shop that uses tech in the most effective way to create simple, easy-to-use functions. We recognise the pressures and strains in the sector, but this is a tool that can help you navigate the winter season and so much more. The use of AI is impressive in terms of supporting user experience and it is incredible value for money.
